I’m Hoping for a Limiting Decision
My dear husband lost his sight 50 years ago and I spend my life dodging round him as he moves at speed assuming nothing’s in the way – walls, doors, me etc. Imagine the nifty footwork that involves!
Well, last summer he decided to jump over the Lavender Bed – he does that sort of thing! Unfortunately, he misjudged the height (English Lavender – 3 feet tall) and came a cropper.
So, why am I hoping for a Limiting Decision?
A Limiting Decision is one that was appropriate at the time but now limits you, and most of us have them, in areas like money, self-worth, public speaking etc.
But we also make Enabling Decisions – which were appropriate at the time and are serving you still, in areas like money, self-worth, public speaking etc.
I’m hoping my dear husband has made decision that may limit his desire to jump over the Lavender without first checking the height. I guess that could be called a sensible decision but in theory its a limiting decision; appropriate at the time and now limits his impulse to jump over tall objects. Not all limiting decisions are limiting, they can be enabling too.
How’s your own decision-making?
Check out the decisions you’ve made so far by noticing any limits on your results. Do you keep finding yourself in the same position? Because that is one of the signs to look for.
Removing a limiting decision is quite straight-forward and will change you life for ever.
